Classy and understated dried wedding flowers for Hollie & David’s Clifton wedding

“Natalie was so helpful and supportive throughout, and even helped preserve our flowers for two months - they were perfect!”

With a change of brief due to rescheduling, working on Hollie and David’s wedding flowers was a creative challenge involving forward planning and thinking on my feet.

Hollie wanted an understated, sophisticated look for her wedding flowers, and for the original brief we were going to use a mix of fresh and dried flowers and foliages in cream, taupe, white and green.

Unfortunately, due to Covid, Hollie and David’s wedding had to be rescheduled twice - the second time with only a few days notice. Rather than any of the fresh flowers and foliages that I had already selected and prepared going to waste, we decided to dry them.

Drying the flowers worked perfectly, and so the brief was switched slightly to use all dried flowers and foliages, which worked out beautifully in the end.

Despite the couple facing several postponements, I adapted to create a gorgeous array of flowers for their magical wedding day.

Alongside Hollie and David’s original wedding flowers, I chose a selection of dried flowers, which all had different textures and shapes. This included gorgeously soft pampas grass, structural poppy seed heads, and helichrysum.

The gypsophila and eucalyptus from the original fresh wedding flowers, now dried, added a great contrast to the rest of the wedding bouquets and other flower arrangements.

In total, for Hollie and David’s wedding I created one striking bridal bouquet, as well as two complementing bridesmaids bouquets, 4 delicate buttonholes for the groom and groomsmen, 2 child's buttonholes, and a lovely flower girl crown.

I also created 7 floral table arrangements for the wedding reception - each table had a trio of glass vases filled with hand tied bouquets, echoing those held by the bride and bridesmaids.

“Thank you Natalie! We are so happy that we put all of our trust into Natalie to create our wonderful wedding flowers. Our daughter loved her flower crown, and I will be keeping it forever.”
